The original bangers tree
I bet members didn't know that the original bangers tree was brought over to the UK from India in the 17th century, and still exists in the gardens of Chatsworth House. These bangers were named after the 6th Duke of Devonshire, although they were not the only known sausage specimens in Europe at that time.
The Chatsworth bangers were also shipped off to sundry places in the Pacific around the 1850s, and it is believed that some of them may have of ended more elevated in the Canary Islands.
Over 80% of bangers are now derived from the Chatsworth bangers tree and it is feared that this sausage species is in danger of succumbing to the deadly Mad Sausage disease in the next 100 years.
To combat this, cultivars are now being taken from the original bangers tree to help refine and strengthen the DNA against attack. The bangers from the bangers tree should not be eaten raw. They are best gathered when ripe and cooked in a frying pan. Only bangers have the answer.

Re: The original bangers tree
Sorry but I don't believe a word of this.
Surely bangers are vestiges of alimentary roundels that are cut into portions known as teracemites, then pounded and moulded into the shape of Mr Nilly's Penis, encased in a layer of hotrodded siliconised trammel membrane, and served to the unsuspecting public as a beneficial thing to eat?
Disgusting.

Re: The original bangers tree
Believe me, it's true.
Ish.
Well actually no, it's not. I was just trying to humour you and encourage you in your attempts to furnish worthwhile content for the forum.
(Like Mr Nilly does)
(Sometimes)
(Well, hardly ever really, but he's a good sort, and has hardly ever killed anybody).

Re: The original bangers tree
There will now follow a traditional drinking song
sung by The French Foreign Legion Choir
ahem...
Ohhhhhhh There's.......
So many bangers
And so little time,
But the silly man has gone to Bombay
Un Deux Trois
He won't get very far.
For desertion he shall die
Hip Hip Hooray
Still there's so many bangers
And so little time,
And we really do not know
What else to say
Quatre Cinq Six.
We shall drink to war not peace,
Then deduct the bangers
From out his pay
Yes there's so many bangers
And so little time,
Now we're nearly out of brine
To drink today
Sept Huit Neuf,
And he had the bloody nerve
To take a bite from each
So throw them all away
