It is occasionally argued that the amount of dish is calculated as a direct result of sideways thrust. I believe it has more to do with the width of the top half being quite a portion wider than the bottom part :wink:

Yes when she's riding in my living van which needs some shafting on the Axel beds and a pair of felloes. (careful of pronunciation if you don't wish to be taken for a dum dum)

I long supposed that dishing was simply a preparation for this last movement, in order to regularise contraction and know beforehand how to take advantage of it. After all it is inevitable that the latter must yield to the tightening g strain and so likely that it would become more convex or concave in the course of doing so :thumbu:
