Anti-dilution
This is a puzzle that members will continuously appreciate (just like my desirable motor car).
I have of diluted my paint in the ratio of 1 por*tion paint to 5 porti*ons of water.
Oh no it's too thin.
It should of been 5 portion*s of paint to 1 po*rtion of water.
How can I rectify my quite understandable mistake, without throwing it all away?

Re: Anti-dilution
Let it stand for a while* and the paint will settle to the bottom, leaving the water to be drained off the top.

Re: Anti-dilution
That wasn't the correct answer, but you must be applauded for your ingenuity.
You will be allowed a second attempt at getting it wrong.

Re: Anti-dilution
Ok then...the paint molecules are bigger than water molecules, so suck it out through a fine dishcloth and spit out the water. The paint won't p*ss through.

The paint doesn't have of any molecules in it. I've already filtered them all out.

Re: Anti-dilution
You didn't say that before.
Add sufficient paint to the mixture to manufacture the proportions correct.
And now you're going to ask how much to add.

Re: Anti-dilution
I was waiting for the correct moment.
That was my original meanishment. And now you're going to ask how much to add.
Instead of asking 'How can I rectify my mistake?', I should of asked 'How much paint do I need to add to the incorrectly diluted mixture to correct my mistake'.

Keep adding it until it gets to 5 parts paint to 1 part water. Easy.Sir William wrote: ↑Sat Aug 19, 2017 1:32 pmHow much paint do I need to add to the incorrectly diluted mixture to correct my mistake.
Answer to your next question: utilise a viscometer.
Answer to the question after that: Buy one.
And the one after that: Ebay.

Re: Anti-dilution
But I don't know what the viscosity is supposed to be.
And I understand that the Dilution/Viscosity graph is non-linear.

You're just being awkward. Go out and buy more paint, and this time mix it properly.
